A lot of people are considering liposuction these days, but an option that they may not have considered is laser liposuction. Laser liposuction surgery is a relatively new procedure that is actually safer and costs less than conventional liposuction. To understand what laser liposuction is we first need to understand what regular liposuction is.
Liposuction is an invasive surgical procedure that inserts a tube into an incision near the fatty deposits in your body and literally sucks out the fat. The procedure isn’t 100 percent safe, and it leaves behind a lot of skin that may or may not reduce in size over time.

Laser assisted liposuction is done under local anesthesia, to melt the fat with very little trauma caused to the area, with very little scarring. With regular lipo costing anywhere between $2 and $8000, laser lipo will cost somewhere between these two numbers as well, but may be cheaper than if you would have gone with the traditional surgery.
The biggest improvement over conventional liposuction is that extra surgery used to be required to get rid of loose flabby skin, but now the skin gets tightened at the same time of the laser liposuction procedure. The thing that makes laser liposuction safer is the fact that general anesthesia isn’t required for the procedure, it is simply the numbing of the local anesthetic. If you are considering liposuction surgery, either laser or otherwise then understand the risks and talk to your doctor. Make sure the surgeon that you choose is well versed in the procedures and that he or she has a good track record. Above all, be safe.
